Issued on May 22, 2025, Resolution 737 updates SUBTEL Compliance Resolution 1985 by implementing a QR code–based digital compliance system for SRDs, with mandatory enforcement starting February 22, 2026.
The regulation applies to most Short-Range Devices, including Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, LoRa, RFID, and other wireless equipment operating in Chilean SRD bands. Medical-use SRDs remain subject to traditional type-approval requirements under SUBTEL Compliance.
Rather than issuing a physical SUBTEL Compliance certificate, every device package must feature a QR code linking to a Spanish-language compliance webpage that presents the product’s technical and administrative details.
The QR code must appear on the product’s outer packaging, clearly visible, with a minimum size of 1 cm × 1 cm, no borders, and high contrast. It must link directly via HTTPS to the model-specific SUBTEL Compliance page without any redirects.
The webpage must display the brand, model, product category, frequency bands, radiated power, antenna gain, manufacturer details, Chilean importer or representative information, Declaration of Conformity, and references to test reports. All content must be in Spanish and publicly accessible under SUBTEL Compliance requirements.
No. The QR code must open a dedicated compliance webpage for the exact product model. SUBTEL Compliance may treat redirects, marketing pages, or mixed content as non-compliant.
Yes. Existing type-approval certificates remain valid; however, each product model must now include a QR code linking to its official certificate or SUBTEL Compliance webpage. No new type-approval certificates will be issued for non-medical SRDs after February 2026.
SUBTEL Compliance may suspend the commercialization or public display of non-compliant products in Chile and may require proof of compliance before allowing re-entry into the market.
Any legally registered Chilean company authorized to receive regulatory correspondence may act as the local representative. Most foreign manufacturers appoint Approve-IT as their official representative through subtelcompliance.com.
The local representative must maintain the model-specific compliance webpage, ensure data accuracy, retain all supporting documentation for 10 years, and respond promptly to any SUBTEL Compliance inquiries or enforcement actions.
Confirm the device’s frequency bands and power limits under Resolution 1985 in line with SUBTEL Compliance requirements.
Prepare a Declaration of Conformity in Spanish.
Assign a Chilean importer or appoint Approve-IT as the authorized representative.
Generate and validate a compliant QR code.
Apply the QR code to product packaging and verify that it resolves correctly to the SUBTEL Compliance webpage.
Most manufacturers receive a compliant QR code and a live SUBTEL Compliance webpage within 24-48 hours after submitting the required documentation.
